Fishing & Boating
Grand Ely Lodge overlooks scenic Shagawa Lake with smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleye, pike, crappie, and lake trout bustling right below the surface. We offer a marina for you to enjoy a relaxing day on the water. Rent one of our 16ft. Deluxe Fishing Boats or a 20ft. Deluxe Pontoons, or fish right off the dock using one of our fishing poles to reel in a keeper. Here you are never too far from the catch of the day.
Canoeing, Kayaking, & Paddle Boats
Grand Ely Lodge offers FREE use of a canoes, kayaks or paddleboats, so venture out on Shagawa Lake and take in some of nature's best kept secret.
Nature Hiking
Lace up your boots and enjoy an adventure into the beautiful Ely forest. The Trezona Trail, located just across the street from our resort, provides four miles of scenic hiking for outdoor explorers of all experience levels. Other area trails include the Bass Lake Trail, Angleworm Trail, and Secret/Blackstone Trail, for miles and miles of wilderness to walk through.
Biking
Bring your bike and pedal your way right from the Grand Ely Lodge onto the 4.5 mile Trezonza Trail where the trails take you through a journey of lakes, trees and wildlife. The bike trails are great riding adventure for all levels of experience. Bike racks available for your convenience while staying with us at the Grand Ely Lodge.
Berry Picking
During peak season, areas are bustling with fresh berries, perfect for the picking. The Ely Blueberry Arts Festival occurs every year in late July, celebrating the ripe harvest Ely experiences every summer.
