Four seasons, 12 months, 365 days – that’s how much time we set aside for adventure each year at Grand Ely Lodge. The premier four-season resort in Minnesota, our lakeside resort sits on the shore of Shagawa Lake, less than a mile from Downtown Ely and within minutes of multiple Boundary Waters Canoe Area entry points. No matter if you’re traveling solo, with an adventurous group of friends, in tandem with that special someone, or with the whole family tagging along, Grand Ely Lodge offers ideal all-season adventures.

As the temperature begins to cool, the Minnesota forest comes alive with color, ushering in the area’s most picturesque season. The best way to see the ever-changing landscape of leaves is to get up close and personal. Hike the nearby Trezona Trail and become entranced by a scenery of vibrant colors. Fill a stunning autumn weekend in Ely with plenty of fresh air, and a scenic drive to beat the sometimes-chilly weather. Then head back to the Grand Ely Lodge for a hot beverage and a bite to eat in the Evergreen Restaurant or Antlers Lounge. Be sure to visit in September for the Full Harvest Moon Festival, an annual favorite in Ely with music, shows, delicious local food, and more.
